Shab and Nish were friends who grew up together in a village in Kozhikode, Kerala. When their peers were dreaming of the usual choices like engineering and medicine, they decided to take the less-travelled path.

They were passionate about exploring the United Kingdom ever since their teenage days. But it wasn't easy either. They understood that they needed a whopping ₹3 million to realize their UK dreams after school. But they kept their enthusiasm intact and broke down their goal into achievable mini-steps.

The duo was exceptionally good at turning hurdles into opportunities. The story of their forefathers who rolled up their sleeves to launch a business in Calicut during the ferocious British rule in 1925 inspired them to push the boundaries.

In 2009, they made the first big step in their career. Shab and Nish migrated to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education. After completing their MBA from the UK, they joined British Railways. During these formative years, they realized the immense potential the UK held for passionate entrepreneurs.

In 2017, they took a calculated risk and dipped their feet into entrepreneurship, forsaking their well-paid career. They acquired a mill based in Leicester and rebranded it into Root Millers, drawing inspiration from the family business in India. Within a short period, Root Millers became the household name for freshly milled food items in the UK. Following the exponential success of their milling business, they launched Root Millers Super Store at Leicester. Soon, they expanded the business to India with Rootme, a food & meat delivery service, and acquired the Calicut area franchise of Juicy, the fastest-growing juice brand in Kerala.

Shab & Nish wanted their story to inspire youngsters across the globe. In 2020, they launched BeRoot, a unique Instagram community to help youngsters become their best version. The community, which frequently creates inspiring content, boasts 65K+ followers. Taking the gigantic success of BeRoot to the next, practical level, the duo launched BeRoot UK in Calicut, Kerala, along with their partners, Muhammed Shafi and Ajmal Faris.

BeRoot UK helps people who want to experience the UK at different levels and offers a host of services such as study abroad programs, investment opportunities and leisure activities in the United Kingdom. Today, with an expansive portfolio of businesses, the Root Group is on its way to becoming a conglomerate with a presence across the globe. The story of Shab & Nish is now fuelling the dreams of many aspiring youngsters -from students to entrepreneurs.
